Tonight, Avatr officially launched its first range-extended (Range extender) model, the Avatr 07, priced between 219,900 RMB and 279,900 RMB. In comparison, the pure electric version is slightly more expensive, ranging from 229,900 RMB to 289,900 RMB.
At the launch event, Avatr’s CEO, Chen Zhuo, confidently stated, “They say the third product is always a hit, and anything named ‘7’ is never simple.” He referred to the Avatr 07 as the brand’s first “hexagonal warrior,” with well-balanced capabilities.
A Design that Stays True to Avatr’s Style
Spy photos of the Avatr 07 began circulating online as early as May this year. The rear design, unlike previous models, adopts a more structured rear window, moving away from flamboyant designs.
Some might question whether Avatr has compromised on its design language, but the Avatr 07 remains a model with distinct design choices. In terms of dimensions, the Avatr 07 is a standard mid-size SUV, with a length of 4.8 meters, a width of nearly 2 meters, and a restrained height of just 1.6 meters. Avatr’s commitment to design excellence extends to aerodynamics, with features like hidden rain gutters, smooth pillars, and the only electronic exterior mirrors in its class, further enhancing airflow and overall performance. Notably, the front windshield’s seam design underwent 27 rounds of optimization to achieve an almost “perfect skyline.”

Inside, the Avatr 07 continues with the brand’s signature clean layout, combining aesthetics with functionality. The front seats feature zero-gravity technology, offering 8-point massage and 16-way electric adjustment. The rear seats come equipped with heating, ventilation, and massage functions, with the backrest angle adjustable between 28° and 34°.
Although the 07’s trunk space, at 500 liters, is slightly smaller than some competitors, the rear seats can be folded flat to maximize space, ensuring practicality remains intact.

The Avatr 07 is powered by Avatr’s self-developed Kunlun range-extension technology, designed to narrow the experience gap between range-extended and pure electric vehicles. The Kunlun range-extender uses a 1.5T supercharged engine, and through the integration of an electronic oil pump and active piston positioning technology, it significantly reduces engine noise and vibrations, particularly at low speeds and idle.
The system is paired with a 39kWh Super Hybrid Battery developed in collaboration with CATL, which maintains high power output even in low-charge conditions. This ensures that the difference in acceleration between full charge and low charge is only 0.9 seconds, solving the issue that previously plagued range-extenders of significant power drops when the battery is low.
