If there’s a car priced under 200,000 RMB and equipped with Huawei’s QianKun Intelligent Driving system, wouldn’t you think it offers great value for money? What if this car not only has Huawei’s QianKun Intelligent Driving system but also DEEPAL’s Super Range Extender? This car is the star of our review today—the DEEPAL L07.
[ ·A Different Vibe from the SL03· ]
For those familiar with the DEEPAL SL03, the L07 might seem somewhat familiar at first glance. In fact, many may mistakenly believe that the L07 is a successor to the SL03. However, this isn’t the case; the two cars have distinctly different vibes. The L07 focuses on smart technology for family use, with a more mature “90s-born” personality, while the SL03 is younger and sportier, at least “95-born.”
The front of the car appears very sleek, with air ducts on both sides. The most eye-catching feature is the petal-shaped headlight clusters, which are highly recognizable. I can’t help but feel it has a touch of a "mechanical armor" feel. Additionally, the lower intake is equipped with active air shutters, which close to reduce drag and open to cool the battery.
In terms of dimensions, the DEEPAL L07 measures 4875/1890/1480mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 2900mm. It is slightly longer than the SL03, but other dimensions remain the same. The L07’s side profile is dynamic, with 19-inch low-drag wheels that look impressive. Combined with frameless doors, it’s sure to win the hearts of young buyers.
The rear of the DEEPAL L07 also showcases thoughtful details. The continuous red tail light strip grabs attention when lit, and the retractable rear spoiler not only adds flair but also provides downforce at high speeds for greater stability. The fastback-style rear door, a favorite among young buyers, adds to the car’s appeal—after all, even the post-90s generation cares about aesthetics!
[ ·More Refined Interior· ]
Stepping inside, you’ll immediately notice the design difference from the SL03. The interior remains minimalist, with hidden air vents running across the dashboard, adding depth to the design. The dashboard is wrapped in leather, and soft-touch materials are used in areas where the driver and passenger’s legs may rest.
The DEEPAL L07 doesn’t come with a traditional dashboard; instead, it uses a 55-inch AR-HUD, and the 2.5K central control screen has been upgraded to 15.6 inches. Although powered by the 8155 chip, the system runs on DEEPAL OS, not Huawei’s ecosystem. The overall responsiveness brings out the full potential of the 8155 chip, and the UI design has a clear “Huawei” aesthetic. Additionally, like Zeekr cars, the central screen can tilt left or right by up to 15 degrees.
It’s rare to see zero-gravity seats in a car under 200,000 RMB, but the DEEPAL L07 offers them for both the driver and front passenger. These seats come with electric adjustment, memory, heating, ventilation, and even massage functions, and the electric leg rest is not missing either. For daily commuting, the driver’s seat often spends time “waiting,” and the L07 thoughtfully caters to the driver.
[ ·Huawei QianKun Intelligent Driving + DEEPAL Super Range Extender· ]
The DEEPAL L07 is equipped with Huawei’s QianKun Intelligent Driving ADS SE, with hardware including millimeter-wave radar, ultrasonic radar, and cameras, using a vision-only approach. Although it’s Huawei’s more entry-level smart driving solution, its performance in high-speed driving is commendable, with good handling of route choices and entering/exiting ramps. In urban settings, it offers cruise assistance with functions like automatic following, stop-and-go, and lane changing.
In terms of power, the DEEPAL L07 is available in both pure electric and extended-range versions. The pure electric model has a maximum motor power of 185kW and is equipped with a 56.12kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, providing a CLTC range of 530km. The range-extended model uses a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine as a range extender with a maximum power of 72kW. The drive motor delivers 160kW, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 6.2 seconds, and the battery pack has a capacity of 28.39kWh. The vehicle also supports 3C fast charging, enabling a 100km range with just a 10-minute charge.
In eco mode, power output is somewhat delayed, but in sport mode, the response is more immediate. The steering gives a hint of old Ford cars, being precise and clear, while the car's dynamics remain agile. The chassis features a MacPherson front suspension and multi-link rear suspension with long travel. The suspension also uses strong bushings, making the ride feel responsive and bouncy on continuous bumps.
[ ·In Conclusion· ]
While it’s not as sharp as the SL03, the L07’s design is still plenty cool. Features like dual zero-gravity seats and the sunflower screen make it superior to the SL03 in terms of comfort and technology. More importantly, with DEEPAL's Super Range Extender in one hand and Huawei's Intelligent Driving in the other, this car delivers excellent value for money.
